Alyaksandr Lukashenka has approved a draft agreement on a service enabling the search for information on industrial property objects protected in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. The corresponding decree was signed on January 5.

The government has been authorized to conduct negotiations on the draft agreement and to sign it.

The international agreement defines the procedure for creating within the EAEU a service for searching information on industrial property objects (trademarks, service marks, geographical indications, and appellations of origin of goods). The system will operate on the EAEU’s official portal with free public access.

“The implementation of the document will contribute to enhancing the protection of rights to industrial property objects,” Lukashenka’s press service said.
