Another accident involving a child falling from a window occurred in Slonim on May 23.
According to the Investigative Committee, a two-year-old girl fell from the window of an apartment located on the fifth floor.
While the girl’s mother was in the kitchen, the child climbed onto a play cube placed next to a radiator, got onto the windowsill and fell through the open window.
“After noticing that the child was missing, the woman looked out of the window and saw her daughter lying on the ground. Emergency medical services arrived and hospitalised the child in serious condition”, the Investigative Committee said.
The girl’s mother explained that her daughter regularly climbed onto windowsills, which was why all window handles had been removed, but on the day of the incident she forgot to close the window.
