Polish customs officers detained two bus drivers at the Terespol border crossing. They were attempting to illegally bring cigarettes from Belarus into Poland, the customs service said.
During the inspection, customs officers paid attention to the spare wheels. It turned out that the drivers had hidden cigarettes inside them. In addition, one of the drivers had concealed cigarettes in publicly accessible areas of the bus.
A total of 1,000 packs of Belarusian cigarettes were seized. The drivers were fined a combined total of 24,900 zlotys ($8,000).
