A Belarusian citizen was detained at the Polish-Belarusian border after attempting to leave Poland in a truck with a semi-trailer bearing an altered VIN number, the Polish Border Guard reported.

The 38-year-old driver was crossing the border at Kukuryki. Border guards inspected the truck and discovered that the VIN number of the Schmitz semi-trailer had been tampered with.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched. Case materials have been handed over to police in Terespol. The vehicle, valued at 100,000 zlotys ($28,200), has been seized.
