Polish customs officers found smuggled cigarettes in the car of a Belarusian citizen at the Bobrowniki border crossing on the Belarusian-Polish border.
A total of 500 packs of cigarettes were hidden inside the vehicle’s seat. The shipment was valued at more than 10,000 zlotys ($2,700), according to the Tax Administration Chamber in Białystok.
The 27-year-old Belarusian driver admitted to the smuggling offense. He was fined 10,000 zlotys. The cigarettes were confiscated.
