Belarusian Prime Minister Alyaksandr Turchyn has signed a Council of Ministers resolution “On State Technical Inspection and Key Road Traffic Indicators,” the government press service reports.
According to the document, when the owner of a vehicle changes during the validity period of a roadworthiness permit, a repeat technical inspection will no longer be required.
Authority for issuing permits to diagnostic stations has been transferred to the Transport Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Previously, this was handled by BelNIIT Transtekhnika.
The inspectorate will also gain access to data from state information resources, eliminating the need for citizens to provide documents in person.
In addition, restrictions on the list of legal entities authorised to test specialised vehicles — including refrigerated trucks, insulated vans and tankers — have been removed.
The resolution also defines the procedure for state accounting of key road traffic indicators. Previously, these indicators were established by the Interior Ministry.
