A basalt insulation production facility has been opened in Mahiliou. The new enterprise is a resident of the Mahiliou Free Economic Zone. Its construction was financed with the participation of the Development Bank.
The new plant, “Bazaltum”, is capable of producing 400,000 cubic meters of products annually. It was built as part of an import substitution program. A total of 89 jobs have been created.
The plant has its own wind farm for energy generation. Fifteen wind turbines have been installed.
