Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has appealed to Belarusians to take part in the elections to the fourth convocation of the Coordination Council, which will be held from May 11 to 17. Nine lists have been registered to participate. A total of 174 candidates are competing for 80 seats in the Belarusian proto-parliament.
In her video address, Tsikhanouskaya thanked everyone who continues to support Belarus and said that change begins with participation.
“From May 11 to 17, we have the opportunity to take another important step — to show that civil society is alive, active, and has its own voice”, the politician said.
She urged voters to carefully study the candidates and their programs before casting their ballots.
“The people who decided to run for the Coordination Council made a conscious choice. They understood what they would face: pressure, threats, risks. And still they chose to run. That deserves sincere respect”, the democratic forces leader noted.
“A conscious choice begins with understanding. The better we know who and what we are voting for, the stronger our common position will be. Now is exactly the time to read, compare, understand the essence, and make up our minds — so that our voice is not just a voice, but a responsible choice for the future of Belarus”, she added.
