Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is beginning a two-day visit to the Czech Republic.
She is scheduled to meet with Czech President Petr Pavel, Foreign Minister Petr Macinka, the Speaker of the Senate, and the Mayor of Prague. She will also address a Senate committee and hold meetings with representatives of civil society and the Belarusian diaspora.
“The Czech Republic has always understood that freedom must be defended. It has stood with Belarusians in difficult times, welcomed those forced into exile, and kept our democratic future on Europe’s agenda.
I am here to strengthen our cooperation and thank our Czech friends for supporting a free, democratic, and European Belarus,” Tsikhanouskaya said.
