Traffic Police Step Up Road Controls in Belarus Ahead of Radunitsa

The State Traffic Inspectorate has stepped up controls on roads near burial sites ahead of the day of commemoration of the deceased. Preventive measures titled “No Place on the Road for the Drunk and Unlicensed” are being carried out across the country, aimed at identifying intoxicated drivers and those without valid driving licences.

To avoid traffic congestion due to массового посещения cemeteries, the traffic police recommend visiting burial sites in advance or using public transport. Increased traffic is expected on rural roads over the weekend, along with unstable weather conditions. Drivers are advised to choose safe speeds, avoid dangerous manoeuvres and overtaking, not to be distracted while driving, and to ensure the safe transportation of passengers, especially children.

Pedestrians and cyclists are advised to exercise increased caution when moving along roadways and to use reflective elements in the dark.
