Aliaksandr Lukashenka said he expects Belarusian farmers to produce a harvest of 12 million tonnes this year.

“Now we need to bring in the grain harvest. Across the country, it should be no lower than last year’s level. If you deliver 12 million tonnes, that will be a great achievement,” he said during a visit to Brest.

Last year, the Agriculture and Food Ministry reported a harvest of 11 million tonnes, including grain, corn and rapeseed. The figure was reported in bunker weight. According to Belstat, the harvest after processing amounted to nearly 9.15 million tonnes of cereals and pulses, as well as 910,300 tonnes of rapeseed.

Lukashenka also once again stressed the importance of discipline, saying that it was evident only in the places he had personally visited.

“We can do everything if there is discipline. Wherever the president has been, things are in good order. But I can’t be everywhere. The biggest problem is the lack of technological discipline. We know how to do everything if there is discipline. We can do everything if there is discipline.

Those who do not want to prove themselves at work will be able to prove themselves in the army.

We need to teach our people discipline, even if it is unpopular coming from me. If there is discipline, we will be able to do everything,” he added.
