20 Tonnes of Belarusian Chicken Wings Destroyed in Russia

Russian authorities in Smolensk Region have destroyed 20 tonnes of frozen broiler chicken wings that were being transported from Belarus.

The truck, which was travelling from Belarus to Kazakhstan, was stopped on July 3. The driver presented forged veterinary documents for the cargo.

The shipment was sent for laboratory testing, which confirmed the absence of pathogens causing dangerous infectious diseases. The cargo was destroyed on July 27.

Those responsible have been held administratively liable, Russia’s veterinary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor said.
