The State Customs Committee on Tuesday morning reminded the public of the ban on the departure of trucks with Lithuanian registration from Belarus. The announcement was made yesterday.
“Until the Lithuanian side restores normal traffic through the Medininkai and Šalčininkai checkpoints, the movement of Lithuanian-registered trucks across the Belarusian border will not be allowed,” the committee’s statement said.
According to the committee, 800 Lithuanian trucks have already been moved to parking areas near border checkpoints:
to Berestovitsa — 350;
to Benyakoni — 160;
to Kotlovka — 220;
to Kamenny Loh — 70.
“Drivers who have complied with the official written instructions of customs authorities to move their vehicles to specially designated areas may leave the territory of Belarus,” the statement added.
