Russia launched another large-scale strike on Ukraine overnight, using ballistic missiles and drones. Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Vinnytsia and Lviv were among the cities targeted.
As of the morning, one person had been confirmed killed in Kyiv. Two others were injured. Fires broke out at market pavilions, a garage cooperative and a five-storey residential building.
In Kyiv Region, five people were reported injured. A private house was partially destroyed. Five injured people were pulled from the rubble.
One person was killed in Poltava District.
Near Kryvyi Rih, an Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from Voronezh struck a private house directly. Six people were killed in the attack, including girls aged 5 and 12. Eight others were injured, including two children. Search operations at the site were still underway.
In Lviv, two residential buildings were damaged. Fifteen people were reported injured. Rescue operations were still ongoing.
Poland scrambled fighter jets and increased the readiness of its air defence systems after Russia used long-range weapons against western regions of Ukraine. Air raid sirens were activated in Lublin Voivodeship because of the threat posed by Russian strikes on Ukraine’s border regions.
