Commenting on the results of talks with a US delegation in Minsk on Belarusian state television, Belarus’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and one of the key negotiators, Valiantsin Rybakou, explained what is meant by the normalization of relations between Belarus and the United States.
Rybakou referred to remarks by US President’s Special Envoy John Coale and hinted at potential joint business with the American side.
“Mr. Coale today made it absolutely clear. He did not just make it clear, he stated it absolutely openly at the meeting with President Alyaksandr Lukashenka. He said that the ultimate goal that he and the US administration are setting for themselves is the full normalization of our relations. This concept includes absolutely everything. That is, political relations, economic relations, business that we can jointly develop, that we can jointly engage in. This is culture, this is everything, this is the entire complex of our relations. This is not a superficial expression like ‘the entire complex of bilateral relations.’ It truly includes absolutely everything,” Rybakou said.
