Project “Kastus” Designated as an “Extremist Formation” in Belarus

Main

The pages of the “Kastus” project have been designated an “extremist formation” in Belarus. The decision is based on a ruling by the Ministry of Internal Affairs dated 10 December 2025 No. 29EK “On Recognizing a Group of Citizens as an Extremist Formation and Prohibiting Its Activities,” which was published today.

The entry states that the initiative is connected to Kanstantsin Reznichak, born 15 May 1978, and Alyaksandr Herasimenka, born 30 January 1977.

“A group of citizens acting jointly and in coordination since 2021, united under the common name ‘Kastus,’ carries out extremist activities,” the “reference information” says.

Belarusian authorities routinely use extremism-related charges to target opponents and dissent more broadly.
