The Interior Ministry reported the detention of a suspect in a rape committed in 2013. At the time, the victim was a 24-year-old woman.
Investigators established that the man entered the victim’s unlocked house, assaulted her using physical force, and then fled, leaving behind a jacket containing biological traces at the crime scene.
At that time, investigators were unable to identify a suspect. However, the investigation continued. Biological samples were regularly collected from residents of Zhlobin and the surrounding district, with about 800 men undergoing testing.
As a result, evidence was obtained against a resident of the Zhlobin district. At the time the crime was committed he was 52 years old.
“The suspect has been arrested, and all circumstances of the incident are being established,” the Interior Ministry’s press service said.
