The duty-free import quota for electric vehicles available to legal entities in Belarus has been exhausted, the State Customs Committee said.

From now on, legal entities will be required to pay import duties amounting to 15% of the vehicle’s value.

The quota for individuals still covers 1,708 vehicles.

Earlier, the Eurasian Economic Commission allocated Belarus a quota for the duty-free import of 20,000 electric vehicles.

In May this year, the Belarusian government divided the quota between individuals and legal entities. Legal entities were allocated a quota of 13,800 electric vehicles for this year, while individuals received a quota of 6,200. At the time of the government’s decision, the remaining quota stood at 8,091 vehicles for legal entities and 3,673 vehicles for individuals.
