Alyaksandr Lukashenka said at a meeting today that he does not need the Poseidon or Burevestnik missile systems. He confirmed that the Oreshnik system will enter combat duty in December.
“We will not disclose the details. It is a mobile system that will never stay in one place. It will patrol certain points and will be able to strike from one of them,” he said, according to his press service.
Lukashenka also repeated his recent statement about tactical nuclear weapons, which he claimed had been replaced.
“The Americans still say they don’t know whether we have the weapons or not. Well, that’s fine — let them think so. We warned them. We’re not saying how many, where, or in what way… That’s my business. It’s kept in a secure place. I even said more: we serviced it again — sent it to Russia, serviced it, and brought back the most advanced version of tactical nuclear weapons. We can’t disclose all this, and not so much for our people, but for them — to show them,” he said.
It should be noted that today Lukashenka also announced upcoming talks with a delegation from the United States.
