Forecasters have issued a warning with an orange level of danger.
“On January 28 (Wednesday), icy conditions will persist in many areas of the country and in Minsk, with icy roads. At night, heavy snowfall is expected in central regions and in Minsk,” the statement said.
A similar warning due to Cyclone Leoni is also in effect today.
Tomorrow, the weather in Belarus will continue to be shaped by atmospheric fronts and a warm air mass. Predominantly cloudy conditions are expected. Precipitation will occur at times, including snow, wet snow, and rain. At night, heavy snowfall is expected in some areas, and across much of the central regions. Fog will form in places. Winds will be light and variable. Air temperatures during the day will range from -8°C in the north to +2°C in the south of the country.
