Number of Belarusians Deemed a Security Threat to Lithuania Triples in One Year

In 2025, Lithuania designated 1,634 Belarusian citizens as individuals posing a threat to state security. This is almost three times more than in 2024, when 598 Belarusians were deemed security threats, according to the Department of Migration of Lithuania.

In 2025, Lithuania refused to issue temporary residence permits to 391 Belarusian citizens who applied for such permits for the first time. Another 10,123 Belarusians were denied extensions of previously issued temporary residence permits.

At the initiative of the Department of Migration, valid temporary residence permits were revoked from 214 Belarusian citizens.

One Belarusian was denied a permanent residence permit. Such documents were also annulled for five others.
