The man who had been walking along the edge of a sixth-floor balcony at the Minsk Hotel has returned to his room, Minskaya Prauda reports. Police officers remain at the entrance to the hotel.
Earlier, he was handed a phone. He spoke to someone, then returned the phone and went back into his room.
Hotel staff left the building. Police officers also asked bystanders to leave the square near the Minsk Hotel. An air cushion had been deployed beneath the building. Negotiations were held with the man. The motives for his actions have not been disclosed.
