Belarus, Turkey, and the Vatican have expressed willingness to assist Russia in resolving humanitarian problems while remaining outside “political assessments,” Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova said, as reported by RIA Novosti.
According to her, it has historically been the case that warring parties keep information about the number of missing, captured, or killed confidential until a conflict ends. Russia adheres to this position as well, she noted.
“It is very important that it is possible to conduct searches through cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross. Today, the ombudsmen of Turkey and the Vatican expressed their mediation proposals. Many complex issues are also being resolved with the mediation of our colleagues from Belarus. Thus, we see that there are many concerned people who would like to assist in resolving humanitarian problems, while distancing themselves from political assessments,” Moskalkova said.
