Alyaksandr Lukashenka has said he expects talks with the United States this December, BelTA reported.

“The end of the year will be very difficult and demanding. Most likely, we will have talks with our American partners in December; at least this is what we are preparing for. Therefore, the work schedule must be precisely arranged so that I understand where I am needed, where I am not, and what we can accomplish there,” he said while receiving a report from the head of the Presidential Administration, Dzmitry Kruty (Dmitry Krutoi).

Lukashenka also announced a major foreign trip and his participation in the CSTO summit in Kyrgyzstan.

“A very large trip is expected across the southern part of the planet, starting with Myanmar, Oman, Algeria and so on,” he said.

On 10 November, Lukashenka said that talks with a U.S. delegation were planned “in the coming days.” The statement came after Donald Trump nominated John Coale as special envoy for Belarus. According to Lukashenka’s spokesperson Natallia Eismant, Belarus plans to discuss “five or six issues” with the United States.
