A state of emergency in Lithuania over the situation with meteorological balloons will be declared next week. If necessary, the Lithuanian government is prepared to take further measures, Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė said after a meeting with Seimas faction leaders on 5 December, LRT reported.
“To facilitate the work of the joint groups, experts concluded that a state-of-emergency regime and format would be the optimal solution today. I am listening to their opinion, so we will declare it next week,” Ruginienė said.
The legal framework and documents for introducing the state of emergency are being prepared.
According to the Lithuanian prime minister, if the situation does not change, the government “does not rule out the possibility of going further.”
