Latvian authorities have extended for another week the ban on evening and nighttime flights in the airspace adjacent to the borders with Belarus and Russia, TASS reported, citing a source in the national air traffic control service.
Restrictions on flights at altitudes of up to six kilometers will remain in effect from 17 to 23 November. The previous deadline expired today, and the regime itself was introduced back in September and has since been extended multiple times.
As before, the ban will apply daily from 17:00 to 05:00 UTC (20:00 to 08:00 Minsk time). Information about the restrictions has been provided to all airspace users.
In addition, a similar ban remains in effect until the end of 23 November for flights along the border with Estonia and Lithuania. Exceptions are allowed only for flights that receive authorization from the Ministry of Defense.
