Latvian authorities have extended for one week the restrictions on evening and night-time flights in the airspace along the borders with Russia and Belarus. The information was reported by the country’s air navigation service to TASS.

Before the extension, the ban was in force until the end of 30 November. The restrictions have now been prolonged through 7 December inclusive and apply to altitudes of up to six kilometres. Similar measures were introduced by the Latvian authorities in September and have been regularly extended since.

As before, the ban will remain in effect from 17:00 to 05:00 UTC (20:00 to 08:00 Belarus time). All users of the country’s airspace have been notified of the extension.

Similar one-week restrictions have been introduced for flights along the borders with Estonia and Lithuania. Exemptions apply to flights authorised by the Defence Ministry.
