Dzianis Kuchynski, diplomatic adviser to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, held a series of meetings with White House and State Department representatives in Washington. He reported this on X.

According to Kuchynski, he met with U.S. Deputy National Security Adviser Andy Baker and Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Europe and Russia at the National Security Council Charles McLaughlin. He also met with U.S. presidential envoy John Coale and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Smith.

Dzianis Kuchynski did not provide details of the meetings, noting only that he expressed gratitude for the release of political prisoners in Belarus. Overall, Tsikhanouskaya’s adviser described his visit to Washington as highly productive.

Kuchynski also said he met with Freedom House President and CEO Jamie Fly and with the president and CEO of the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA), Alina Polyakova.

Tsikhanouskaya’s adviser expressed special thanks to the Freedom House team in Lithuania, led by Vytis Jurkonis, “for their dedicated work in helping former political prisoners rebuild their lives after release”. He stressed that continued support from “reliable partners such as Freedom House is critically important”.

“We had a meaningful discussion about EU and U.S. policy towards Belarus, as well as opportunities to include this topic in joint events and initiatives in the future”, Kuchynski wrote about the meeting with Polyakova.
