First Deputy Chairman of the KGB Sergey Terebov claims that Ukraine is allegedly attempting to move sabotage groups and tools for terrorist attacks through Belarusian territory into Russia. He made the statement at the Third CIS Conference on Countering Terrorism and Extremism, which is taking place today in Dushanbe, according to TASS.
“In the context of the special military operation being conducted by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the security threat posed by Ukrainian intelligence services has sharply intensified. To a large extent, this is due to the transfer into Russian territory through Belarus of means to commit acts of terror and sabotage, the infiltration of sabotage groups and agents, as well as the recruitment of citizens to carry out high-profile terrorist acts targeting civilians, government representatives, military facilities, civilian infrastructure, and vital services,” Terebov said.
According to him, the KGB is working to identify agents of Ukrainian intelligence services and to prevent the establishment of stable transit channels for carrying out terrorist acts in Russia using Belarusian territory.
