Kazakhstan has launched a pilot platform for foreign nationals, QazETA. It is designed to issue electronic entry permits (ETA) for citizens of visa-free countries, issue electronic visas, and provide other services.

According to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Belarus, applications for an electronic entry permit must be submitted via a mobile application no later than 72 hours before travel. The permit is valid for 180 days.

“During the pilot period, obtaining an ETA for citizens of countries exempt from visa requirements of the Republic of Kazakhstan is of a recommendatory nature. After its completion, a phased introduction of mandatory ETA requirements for the specified categories of citizens is planned,” the embassy said.

Holders of diplomatic and service passports, members of official delegations, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan are exempt from the requirement to obtain an ETA.
