U.S. presidential special envoy John Coale said on Tuesday that he expects to secure the release of more political prisoners from Belarus within the next month, adding that lifting additional sanctions on Minsk is always possible if that happens.
“I expect that we will be able to secure the release of some prisoners within the next month,” he told Reuters by phone. “And I will return to facilitate this over the next month. Nothing definite, but probably next month.”
