Blogger Ivan Marozau has been released after fully serving a second sentence on politically motivated charges, Nasha Niva reports.

Marozau was first arrested in January 2023 for participating in protests and was sentenced to one and a half years in prison. In April 2024 he was released from the penal colony in Shklou, but spent only about a year at liberty. In June 2025 he was arrested again, this time for insulting Alyaksandr Lukashenka. Human rights defenders believed he had been sentenced to 2.5 years, but the court may have partially counted the time he had already served.

Marozau was recently released from the “repeat offenders’” penal colony in Orsha, the outlet writes.

Ivan Marozau is 43. In the 2000s he ran a LiveJournal blog under the nickname hondurazian and was one of the founders of the Belarusian-language segment of the platform. Trained as a lawyer, he worked in the IT sector and was also among the organizers of the quest game “Skhvatka.”
