Belarus’s Interior Ministry is conducting command-staff exercises in the Brest Region.

According to the ministry’s press service, Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakou and his deputy — commander of the internal troops Mikalai Karpiankou — arrived in Brest.

The main goal of the exercises is to test coordination between the police and all relevant agencies when operating under special conditions. Therefore, the leadership of the regional executive committee is also involved.

“Participants discussed theoretical aspects of ensuring security in the event of a sharp change in the operational situation. The head of the ministry outlined key tasks, emphasizing the importance of coordinated joint work.

The algorithm for covering the state border, creating reserves, and their timely redeployment if necessary has been improved. Various scenarios were simulated, and actions for police officers and attached forces in specific situations were determined,” the statement said.

The exercise scenario was also modified to ensure an element of surprise. The changes include new input conditions and the mobilization of special units from other regions on alert.
