Industrial Output Falls 3.4% in First Quarter

Industrial output in January-March totalled 51.7 billion Belarusian roubles. In comparable prices, it fell by 3.4% compared with the same period in 2025, according to Belstat data. The trend in industrial production improved slightly. In January-February, output had declined by 3.7%.

The sectors recorded the following dynamics:

  • mining industry: +2.2% (648.7 million roubles),
  • manufacturing industry: -5.7% (44.44 billion roubles),
  • electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning supply: +8.2% (5.67 billion roubles),
  • water supply; waste collection, treatment and disposal; pollution remediation activities: -0.2% (989.3 million roubles).

By region, only Brest Region recorded growth in industrial production, at 3.4%. The sharpest decline was recorded in Minsk, where output fell by 8.6%. The downturn deepened compared with January-February.
