Belarus’ Foreign Ministry has commented on Indonesia’s introduction of visa-free entry for Belarusian citizens.

The ministry emphasized that the visa-free regime was introduced in accordance with agreements reached between Aliaksandr Lukashenka and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

Holders of ordinary Belarusian passports traveling to Indonesia for tourism may now stay in the country without a visa for up to 30 days. Previously, Belarusians were required to obtain a visa on arrival.

“For its part, Belarus has consistently pursued a policy of openness: a visa-free entry regime for Indonesian citizens was introduced back in 2017, and Indonesian nationals may currently also stay in our country without a visa for up to 30 days,” the Foreign Ministry said.

As previously reported, Indonesia maintained visa-free entry for citizens of many countries before the COVID-19 pandemic. It later introduced visa requirements but has since been gradually easing those restrictions.
