Belarusian human rights organisations have published a statement recognising seven more individuals as political prisoners.

Those recognised as political prisoners are Dzmitry Baraban, Alena Labanava, Maksim Zhuk, Dzmitry Shakalida, Artur Hranichny, Andrei Kolb and Yury Hadun. They have been charged or sentenced under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code (“Group actions grossly violating public order”).

Human rights defenders are calling for the release of these individuals and the termination of their criminal prosecution.
