The State Control Committee of the Brest region reviewed a complaint from residents of Stroitelny Lane in Kobryn regarding the condition of the road and found discrepancies between official records and the actual situation.
Residents had previously complained to the local executive committee and received a response stating that 400 of the lane’s 540 metres were covered with asphalt concrete and were in satisfactory condition. However, photographs attached to the complaint submitted to the State Control Committee suggested otherwise. The information was confirmed during an on-site inspection.
Following the committee’s intervention, resurfacing work using recycled asphalt material was carried out on the lane. Officials from the district executive committee and a municipal utility company were held accountable for improperly handling the citizens’ complaint, the agency’s press service said.
