French Citizen Detained At Lithuanian Border Over Pistol

A French citizen has been detained at the border with Lithuania after a pistol was found in his pocket, the State Customs Committee reported.

The man was travelling on a scheduled bus from Lithuania through the Kamenny Loh border checkpoint. He chose the green corridor.

“Initially, technical inspection equipment indicated the presence of metal objects on the French citizen. During further customs procedures, a ‘Walther mod. 9’ pistol with five cartridges in the magazine was discovered,” the statement said.

A criminal case has been opened. The French citizen has been detained.
