Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet and Head of the National Anti-Crisis Management Pavel Latushka met with France’s ambassador to Poland, Étienne de Poncins.
The meeting was also attended by Coordination Council Speaker Artsiom Brukhan and the United Transitional Cabinet’s Representative for International and European Cooperation Uladzimir Astapenka.
Latushka informed the ambassador about the results of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya‘s visit to Kyiv, the prospects for bilateral cooperation between Belarusian democratic forces and Ukraine, and the development of cooperation with the European Union, including within the framework of the Lublin Triangle, according to the press service of the United Transitional Cabinet.
During the meeting, Latushka also informed the French side about the position of the Belarusian democratic forces regarding the telephone conversation between Emmanuel Macron and Aliaksandr Lukashenka, as well as the visit of a French representative to Belarus.
The United Transitional Cabinet’s position was also presented, stating that the only way to resolve Belarus’ domestic political crisis and end support for aggression against Ukraine is to hold a national dialogue in the format of a roundtable. Latushka stressed that this should become a condition for Lukashenka for any potential cooperation with the European Union.
Étienne de Poncins reaffirmed France’s unchanged policy of supporting Belarusian democratic forces and democratic transformation in Belarus.
