Prosecutors have sent to court a criminal case related to a bus accident in the Talachyn district that occurred in December last year.
The bus left the roadway and overturned in a ditch. A 53-year-old female passenger was killed, and nine people were hospitalized.
According to prosecutors, the 43-year-old driver was under the influence of medication that reduced his attention and reaction speed while operating the vehicle.
“While driving through the Talachyn district, he failed to take timely measures to reduce speed, including bringing the vehicle to a stop. As a result, the bus left the roadway, struck an earth embankment and subsequently overturned,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The driver has been charged under Part 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code. He remains in custody.
