Representatives of EU member states at the Council of the European Union have agreed on a so-called mini sanctions package against Russia. It is expected to be adopted in the coming days, ahead of consideration of the 21st package of restrictive measures.
Under the mini-package, sanctions will be imposed on nine individuals and 45 legal entities.
In addition, 10 individuals and one legal entity have been sanctioned for activities aimed at destabilizing the European Union, while 15 individuals and one legal entity have been sanctioned for human rights violations in Russia. EU member states also agreed to extend for one year the investment ban on Crimea, which has been in force since 2014.
