Analysts at the Eurasian Development Bank said that Belarus’s economy grew last year mainly due to domestic demand. This was stated in the bank’s weekly review of the economies of its member countries.

“Economic growth in the Republic of Belarus amounted to 1.3% at the end of 2025 thanks to strong domestic demand: retail sales increased by 6.6%. A decline in demand for products of Belarusian enterprises from Russia led to a contraction of industrial output by 1.8%,” the publication said.

The Eurasian Development Bank also believes that Belarus’s GDP will grow by 1.8% this year, provided that the investment projects planned by the government are implemented and economic activity in Russia increases.
