The second stage of the corporate partner review by the Moscow Regional Center of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO-MC) is taking place at the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant from November 10 to 14. The first stage was conducted in 2022.

Experts from WANO are focusing on the integrated management system and independent oversight, assessing administrative performance within operating organizations.

The purpose of the review is to provide an independent evaluation of the plant’s performance and to exchange best practices for further improvement in line with the highest global safety standards, the Belarusian NPP press service said.

An introductory meeting was held on November 10 with the participation of Siarhei Babovich, Director General of the Belarusian NPP, and WANO experts. The main objectives of the upcoming review, the experts’ working methodology, and up-to-date information on the current condition of the plant’s site were discussed in detail.

“We highly value the opportunity to work with experts of this level and thank the representatives of the Moscow Center for their contribution. We also express our hope for the most productive and open cooperation, which will help us strengthen our commitment to the principles of safety and reliability,” said Babovich.
