A passenger car plunged off a cliff and became fully submerged in a river near the urban settlement of Liubcha in the Hrodna Region. The incident occurred on July 2, the Belarusian Society for Water Rescue said.
A group of people had arrived at the site for a fishing trip when a severe thunderstorm began. They decided to move the car farther away from the water, but while turning around on ground made slippery by heavy rain, the vehicle lost traction and slid off the cliff. The driver managed to jump out of the car before it went into the water and was not injured.
Rescuers from the Lida rescue station located the submerged vehicle and recovered it from the river using specialized equipment and diving gear.
