A bridge deck slab collapsed on a local road bridge in Krupki District. The bridge was undergoing reconstruction at the time of the incident.
The 1-by-5-metre slab collapsed on a bridge over the Vysokaya River at the 14th kilometre of the N-8641 Sharniova–Proshyka–Khalapienichy road near the village of Proshyka, located by Lake Sialiava.
Traffic across the bridge has been suspended. Detour routes have been established.
The preliminary cause of the collapse was the passage of heavy-duty vehicles over the bridge, the Emergency Situations Ministry said.
