BelAZ has completed factory tests of a new aircraft tug. The new BelAZ 54011 model is designed to service airliners weighing from 50 to 150 tonnes. Aircraft such as the Airbus A320, A220 and Boeing 737 fall within this range, the plant’s press service said.
The tug is equipped with a Euro-3 class engine with a capacity of 156 horsepower. Its maximum speed is 30 km/h without an aircraft and 12 km/h while towing. The vehicle can turn in four modes: using the middle wheels, the rear wheels, synchronously with all wheels, and in “crab” mode.
