Belarusian citizens have been detained in Germany for working without permits.

On April 23, officers from the Financial Control Unit for Combating Illegal Employment of the Frankfurt (Oder) Main Customs Office carried out an inspection at a solar park construction site. During the check, it was established that 61 foreign nationals were working at the site in violation of migration laws, presseportal reports.

Violations were identified among workers from 10 countries, including Belarus, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova and Uzbekistan. They did not have German residence permits, and their Eastern European residence permits did not grant them the right to work in Germany.

The Financial Control Unit for Combating Illegal Employment plans to conduct in-depth inspections and investigations into the contracts of all subcontracting companies involved in the construction.
