Belarus will be able to import 20,000 electric vehicles without customs duties in 2026. The tariff quota was approved on Thursday by the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. It applies to vehicles classified under customs code 8703 80 000 3.
Armenia and Kyrgyzstan were also granted duty-free quotas for next year. Each will be allowed to import up to 15,000 electric vehicles and series hybrids.
“The exemption from customs duties applies only to citizens permanently residing in Armenia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan. The transfer of ownership, use, or disposal rights of these vehicles to persons holding citizenship and/or permanent residence in Kazakhstan or Russia is not permitted. In the case of ‘series hybrids,’ this restriction also applies to persons holding citizenship and/or permanent residence in Belarus”, — the Eurasian Economic Commission explained.
