On January 23, Belarus’s Ambassador to Venezuela Dzmitry Dzeravinski met with Venezuela’s Sectoral Vice President for Science, Technology, Ecosocialism, and Health and Minister of Science and Technology Gabriela Servilia Jimenez Ramirez.
The sides confirmed their interest in intensifying Belarusian-Venezuelan cooperation in the field of science and technology, including the implementation of joint projects, the exchange of practical experience, and the further development of the legal and regulatory framework, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reported.
They also discussed holding events in the near future aimed at strengthening bilateral contacts at the expert level and ensuring the effective implementation of joint initiatives in the scientific and technical sphere.
Earlier, Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were detained and taken to the United States on January 3. In the United States, they are accused of conspiracy to commit narco-terrorism and cocaine trafficking, as well as weapons possession. Delcy Rodriguez, who had held the post of vice president, became acting president of Venezuela.
