Belarus: Annual Inflation Slows to 6.4% in January

Belstat has published inflation data for January. Monthly inflation in the first month of the year stood at 0.5%, up by 0.2 percentage points compared with December. Annual inflation amounted to 6.4%, slowing by 0.4 percentage points.

Core inflation, which excludes changes in prices for seasonal and regulated goods and services, stood at 0.5% in January.

In January compared with December, food prices rose by 0.6%, non-food goods by 0.1%, and services by 0.6%.

Over the year, prices for food products increased by 8.6%, for non-food goods by 2.5%, and service tariffs by 8.2%.

The inflation target for 2026 is set at no more than 7%.
